Our region is rich in water resources. TMACOG works to protect all our creeks, rivers, and Great Lakes. Local governments that provide drinking water, farmers who feed the nation, researchers who are learning more every day about surface water, stormwater, and water treatment are all part of TMACOG.
TMACOG Makes a Difference
We help maintain professional management of water resources and build a culture of stewardship in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Every year, we bring thousands of school children into their waterways and help their teachers build knowledge and stewardship with the Student Watershed Watch. People in local government who provide our drinking water get professional training. Everybody who manages sewers and wastewater coordinates plans through TMACOG. TMACOG provides expertise in watersheds throughout the region and is the forum for regional water policy and decision-making.
Planning for the Future
Where do we invest limited resources to ensure safe, abundant water continues to be our greatest natural resource? TMACOG works with people restoring natural waterways, treating water and wastewater, and managing the infrastructure that serves homes and business. Careful planning and regional cooperation are powerful tools.
Water Quality Council
The goal of the Water Quality Council is to coordinate and recommend positions on water quality issues and policies to the TMACOG Board of Trustees to improve and protect water quality in our region and Lake Erie.

Clean Ohio Fund – NRAC
In 2000, Ohio voters approved the Clean Ohio Fund to return tax dollars to local communities for the protection of the environment. These funds have been used for open space acquisition, creating public access to open spaces, and to protect and enhance riparian corridors and watersheds.
